Historic Buildings

While many buildings on the old Lowry Air Force Base were demolished, some were saved and restored for new purposes. The Lowry Redevelopment Authority and its developers worked hard to preserve Lowry's heritage. Some of the historic restorations include:

EISENHOWER CHAPEL

The lovely historic Eisenhower Chapel is available for community use–weddings, memorials, bar and batmizvahs, concerts and other community events and meetings.

The Chapel was the first Chapel built on the Air Force Base and received its name because Ike and Mamie attended services there during the summers of his administration. The Lowry Foundation is now the official steward of the Chapel and Colorado Free University manages the use of the building. The Chapel can hold up to 250 for large events and there is a small conference room in the balcony for smaller meetings.
