The New America School is a public high school dedicated to providing intensive English language instruction to non-native English speaking young adults, ages 16 to 20. Through a liberal arts education, students will have the opportunity to work towards a high school diploma or prepare for the GED. The school is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Classes are available for full- and part-time students.

The 156-acre Lowry Campus offers courses, certificates, degrees, and industry training, complete student services and residence halls. Distance learning is a major component. The campus is comprised of the Community College of Denver, the Community College of Aurora, and the Colorado Community College System headquarters.
At the Lowry Campus, approximately 4,000 students currently are enrolled with Community College of Aurora and about 1,000 with Community College of Denver. The campus is located in Lowry's northeast corner, south of Eleventh Avenue and west of Dayton Street.

At the Colorado Free University, you can push your limits. Stimulate your mind. Gain new skills. And do it all at your own pace, at times that are most convenient to you. Located in Lowry's former firehouse, and with classrooms and other leading facilities scattered across the metro area, Colorado Free University has hundreds of fun, challenging courses to choose from: Learn different dances and arts. Pick up a second language — including one that's used to program a computer. The Lowry branch of the university is in the old firehouse on First Place in the Town Center Neighborhood.
The United States Air Force Academy was initially located at Lowry. The Academy's permanent site in Colorado Springs had not yet been completed when the first class arrived in 1955, so the Air Force housed the cadets in renovated barracks at Lowry Air Force Base.
