Prospect Park
EastPark’s gathering area, Prospect Park is located in the heart of the EastPark neighborhood. The 2.5 acre park features a playground, picnic shelter, walking paths, native grass areas and a multi-use open space area for activities.

Lowry Dog Park
The Lowry Redevelopment Authority and the City and County of Denver have set aside approximately five acres of land between Yosemite Way, the Westerly Creek outfall and the Mira Vista Golf Course for the Lowry Dog Park. As envisioned, the Dog Park will have three distinct fenced-in areas: a large dog open space area, small dog area and an agility area. The park will also feature shaded areas for handlers, trash receptacles and water fountains for people and pets, creating one of the showcase dog parks in Colorado.
The Friends of the Lowry Dog Park is fundraising for additional amenities for the Lowry Dog Park such as shaded areas, water fountains and benches. The date of the “leash cutting” depends on community involvement and meeting fundraising goals. To make a donation or to learn more about the park, call 303-326-7103.

Westerly Creek Dam
Built by the Army Corps of Engineers to manage a 500-year flood, Westerly Creek Dam is 45-foot-high, 1.5 mile-long dam that provides the best scenic views at Lowry. Gradual ramps and trails to the top of the dam are directly across from EastPark, allowing residents to walk to the top of the dam to enjoy the view with some solitude.
Westerly Creek is being revitalized as a recreational corridor from the Highline Canal Trail south of Lowry to the Sand Creek Parkway at Stapleton.

Great Lawn
The crown jewel of Lowry’s park system, the Great Lawn will be approximately 50 acres of open space that echoes other classic parks in Denver, including Cheesman, Congress and City Park. The large center lawn will accommodate community events or passive recreational activities. Westerly Creek will wind around the west side of the lawn, narrowing and widening into ponds. The design also features picnic areas, a playground, bridges, trails and roads.

Yosemite Way Open Space
The Yosemite Way Open Space includes more than 30 acres of open space directly across from the EastPark neighborhood. The area will serve as a natural buffer between the EastPark neighborhood and Lowry’s recreational amenities. Broad swaths of native trees, shrubs and grasses will provide color throughout the seasons and visual interest for motorists and pedestrians along Yosemite. A wide biking/walking path will extend along Yosemite Way east to Havana St., eventually connecting to other trails around and through Lowry. The park extends into a tree-lined entrance to the neighborhood at Fourth Place.
