The Lowry Community Master Association has gotten a few calls with folks who are concerned about oil drilling in the Former Lowry Bombing and Gunnery Range. The Former Lowry Bombing and Gunnery Range (FLBGR) is not located in, near or affiliated in any way with "our" Lowry. The FLBGR is located 20 miles southeast of Denver, outside of Aurora and was established in 1942 by the Army as an airfield. All branches of the military used the site for various military exercises before its closure in 1991. Parts of teh FLBGR have been developed into residential neighborhoods, commercial centers, schools and parks and recreation centers.
